Job Overview

The Deputy Branch Director will lead operational excellence across supply chain, warehouse, sales, logistics, and compliance functions. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for healthcare distribution, quality assurance, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Holistic Branch Management

• Plan, direct, and monitor all branch operations—service delivery, procurement, risk, logistics, and commercial activities.
• Coordinate interdepartmentally and maintain strong supplier relationships.

End-to-End Supply Chain & Logistics

• Manage procurement and importation of local and overseas orders.
• Coordinate clearing agents, track shipments, and implement robust reception controls.
• Use dashboards to monitor supplier performance and order timelines.

Strategic Stock & Warehouse Management

• Monitor expiry dates, reorder levels, and minimize stockouts.
• Oversee stock counts, inter-branch transfers, and special pricing validation.
• Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and warehouse security.

Efficient Dispatch & Delivery

• Manage timely dispatch and delivery based on customer needs.
• Collaborate with telesales and warehouse teams to optimize service levels.

Sales Performance Leadership

• Drive revenue growth and margin expansion across commercial teams.
• Support pricing strategy with market, forex, and DSO considerations.
• Ensure adherence to customer credit ceilings and sales targets.

✅ Good Distribution Practice (GDP) & Quality Assurance

• Lead internal GDP audits, SOP implementation, staff training, and risk analysis.
• Develop and maintain validation and compliance plans across operations.

Strategic Operational Development

• Develop KPIs for operational performance and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and legal standards.
• Contribute to the long-term pharmaceutical operations strategy.

Requested Profile

• Proven experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare distribution leadership.
• Strong background in supply chain, warehouse operations, and sales management.
• Excellent strategic planning and cross-functional team coordination skills.
• Deep knowledge of GDP and regulatory compliance in Uganda or East Africa.
• Ability to manage commercial targets, stock accuracy, and operational KPIs.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making abilities.
