Uganda Jobs Network brings you an exciting short-term employment opportunity with Catholic Relief Services (CRS). CRS is recruiting 76 Data Entrants to support large-scale data verification, cleaning, and system updates across multiple districts in Uganda. Job Overview

Catholic Relief Services is implementing a data verification and system clean-up exercise aimed at improving the quality, accuracy, and completeness of beneficiary and activity records submitted by implementing partners. The selected Data Entrants will play a critical role in verifying physical and digital records, correcting inconsistencies, and ensuring alignment with the GEA Data Hub, which serves as the central project data repository. This is a short-term, full-time engagement lasting between 17 and 30 days, making it suitable for candidates seeking practical field experience, temporary employment, or exposure to large-scale development data systems.

Job Locations

These Jobs in Uganda are available across multiple districts, and preference will be given to candidates who reside in or are familiar with the respective implementation areas. Districts include: Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa, Ibanda, Kamwenge, Buhweju, Kakumiro, Kagadi, Hoima, Masindi, Bulisa, Kiryandongo, Kyankwanzi, Nakasongola, Tororo, Manafwa, Namisindwa, Palisa, Kween, Bukwo, Mubende, Lyantonde, Ssembabule, Kiboga, Kasanda, Nabilatuk, Nakapiripirit, Kibaale, Kikube, Kabarole, Ntoroko, Bundibugyo.

Roles and Key Responsibilities

The Data Entrants will support project verification and data quality improvement activities through the following responsibilities:
  • Verify the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of physical data collection tools, including consent forms, attendance registers, training records, seedling distribution lists, and community action plans.
  • Cross-check physical records against corresponding digital entries to identify missing data, inconsistencies, and errors.
  • Re-scan and properly archive physical documents in line with approved data management standards.
  • Update revised consent fields and other corrected data points in CommCare and related digital systems.
  • Enter missing or newly required data fields while ensuring proper formatting and system compliance.
  • Participate in farmer census and verification activities to validate beneficiaries who received seedlings.
  • Support system clean-up by reconciling beneficiary records and correcting duplications or inaccuracies.
  • Clear outstanding data backlogs related to training, consent, and distribution activities submitted by implementing partners.
  • Verify farmer group mappings linked to LCDA structures to ensure accurate reporting and system linkage.
  • Support community re-engagement efforts to resolve gaps identified during data validation exercises.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in data collection and data entry using digital tools such as CommCare, ODK, or KoboCollect.
  • Ability to work accurately with both physical documents and digital systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong data management and data quality assurance skills.
  • Experience in form administration, validation, and basic reporting.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to engage respectfully with community members.
  • Ability to work effectively with field teams and under time-bound assignments.
  • Excellent command of written English and working knowledge of the local language spoken in the area of assignment.
