Exim Bank Uganda is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst (CSA) to enhance the Bank’s Information Security program. This role is responsible for identifying, monitoring, and responding to cyber threats across the Bank’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will lead security operations, vulnerability management, and provide security guidance to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems.

️ Key Responsibilities

• Monitor SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and network logs to detect and investigate security incidents in real-time.

• Lead the vulnerability management program—conduct scans, analyze results, and track remediation efforts.

• Coordinate penetration tests, security assessments, and threat-hunting exercises.

• Analyze alerts and compliance reports to identify violations and recommend corrective actions.

• Operate and maintain cybersecurity tools (e.g., FortSIEM, Rapid7, Sophos, Varonis, ForeScout).

• Collaborate with IT teams to implement secure configurations, patches, and change controls.

• Respond to security incidents—contain, eradicate, recover, and document lessons learned.

• Develop technical reports and dashboards highlighting security trends, risks, and status.

• Provide security training and support for staff; participate in user awareness campaigns.

Key Attributes

• Proficient in security controls across systems, networks, and cloud platforms.

• Analytical thinker with strong risk assessment and mitigation capabilities.

• Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEMs, and endpoint protection.

• Knowledgeable in frameworks: ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, COBIT, and Bank of Uganda regulations.

• Skilled in incident response, log correlation, and SOC operations.

• Ability to automate using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

• Familiar with cloud security (AWS, Azure): IAM, key management, policy enforcement.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across technical and non-technical teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

• 3–5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience, preferably in financial or regulated environments.

• Certifications such as:

  • CEH, OSCP (Ethical Hacking or Offensive Security)

  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent credentials
    (These are considered strong advantages.)
