Job Overview

Donswift Company is seeking to hire two qualified and experienced Credit Officers to join our team in Mubende. The successful candidates will play a critical role in expanding our loan portfolio, managing client relationships, conducting credit appraisals, and ensuring timely repayment of loans. This role is ideal for a results-oriented individual passionate about financial inclusion and community empowerment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting market research and survey activities within targeted communities.
  • Solicit new loan accounts in accordance with specific periodic performance targets outlined in the branch’s business plan.
  • Acquire and maintain new business relationships and loan accounts.
  • Drive portfolio growth in line with the company’s performance targets.
  • Contribute ideas and input toward marketing plans and campaigns aimed at boosting revenue.
  • Conduct aggressive field marketing campaigns to attract new clients.
  • Orient and educate prospective clients on the company’s loan products and procedures.
  • Receive, review, and evaluate loan applications, performing thorough credit appraisals of applicants and their guarantors or sureties.
  • Inspect and appraise properties offered as loan collateral to verify their adequacy and legality.
  • Prepare detailed credit proposals for presentation to the branch credit committee for review and approval.
  • Participate as an active member of the loan committee, contributing to sound credit decision-making.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients through regular follow-ups and site visits before, during, and after loan disbursement.
  • Closely monitor loan repayments, enforce loan agreements, and maintain zero tolerance for overdue accounts.
  • Support fellow credit officers in delinquency crisis management and recovery efforts.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • A diploma or degree in Microfinance, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in credit processing, loan marketing, or client relationship management.
  • Proven ability to analyze financial data and assess creditworthiness effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
