Position: Credit and Collection Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time

Airtel Uganda is seeking a skilled and results-driven Credit and Collection Manager to manage customer credit relationships and ensure timely collections. This role is vital in minimizing bad debt, ensuring accurate invoicing, and maintaining strong customer engagement.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Proactively engage customers via email, phone, and on-site visits to collect outstanding balances.

  • Build strong relationships with clients to support both collections and future business opportunities.

  • Communicate formal demand notices for overdue accounts and ensure prompt follow-ups.

Account Management & Compliance

  • Ensure zero bad debt through advance billing and timely interventions.

  • Minimize dunned accounts by educating and engaging customers early in the billing cycle.

  • Facilitate timely account reconciliation and ensure accounts remain in good standing.

  • Escalate chronic non-payers to the team leader and sales personnel when necessary.

Billing, Invoicing & Documentation

  • Ensure accurate invoicing and delivery of statements to all assigned clients via email or in-person.

  • Conduct and submit monthly invoice sampling and billing audits.

  • Investigate and resolve billing queries and disputes, recommending credit or debit notes as needed.

  • Implement timely corrective actions such as rebates, write-offs, and account adjustments.

Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Monitor payment patterns of new clients and report anomalies to management.

  • Submit regular reports including:

    • Bill sampling reports

    • Payment trend analyses

    • Write-off proposals


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field.

  • 2–4 years of experience in Credit Control, preferably in the telecom sector.

  • Experience in emerging or developing markets is an added advantage.
