The Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) is currently seeking to recruit a Compliance & Risk Officer to play a key role in strengthening the organisation’s enterprise risk management framework. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to identify, analyse, monitor, and report organisational risks, ensuring operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the institution’s strategic objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
As the Compliance & Risk Officer, you will contribute to the effective implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and foster a strong organisational risk culture. Your responsibilities will include:

Risk Register Maintenance: Assist in updating and managing the institutional risk register to reflect all identified operational, financial, compliance, clinical, research, and project-related risks.

Risk Identification: Support departments in identifying and assessing potential risks, including operational, financial, clinical, laboratory, project, and compliance risks.

Risk Monitoring: Track and monitor risk mitigation plans, ensuring timely escalation of emerging risks to management.

Key Risk Indicators (KRIs): Monitor KRIs to ensure timely detection of potential threats to the organisation.

Project & Grant Risk Assessments: Participate in evaluating risks associated with new and ongoing projects or grants.

Risk Awareness & Training: Promote a strong risk culture by supporting awareness programs and staff training initiatives.

Incident Reporting: Maintain an up-to-date risk incident log and support investigations and root cause analysis of reported incidents.

Audit & Compliance Support: Work closely with internal audit teams to address areas where risk overlaps with compliance findings.

Internal Control Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness and cost-efficiency of existing internal controls, recommending improvements where necessary.

Other Duties: Perform any other risk management and compliance-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required

Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Management, or Law.

Completion of at least Level 3 CPA/ACCA or currently enrolled at the Law Development Centre (LDC).

Experience:
-
2-3 years’ proven experience in risk management, internal audit, or compliance roles.

Strong knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks.

Experience working in a research, healthcare, or NGO environment is an added advantage.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

High attention to detail and organisational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with risk management software will be an added advantage.
