Job Summary

The Auto Electrician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in trucks and other vehicles. The role involves both yard-based repairs and field assignments at client locations. The successful candidate will ensure vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and in line with company and client expectations. In addition to technical duties, the Auto Electrician will engage with clients to provide guidance on proper vehicle usage and preventive maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities

The Auto Electrician will carry out the following duties:

• Perform comprehensive electrical diagnostics and repairs on trucks and other vehicles within the company yard.
• Conduct field-based troubleshooting and technical repairs at client sites and breakdown locations.
• Identify, analyze, and rectify complex electrical faults to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.
• Inspect vehicle electrical components including wiring systems, batteries, starters, alternators, sensors, and lighting systems.
• Ensure all repairs meet quality, safety, and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.
• Sensitize and educate clients on correct vehicle usage and preventive electrical maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring faults and recommending long-term solutions.
• Comply with company safety procedures and engineering standards.
• Carry out any additional technical duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Auto Electrical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
• Formal training in vehicle electrical systems.

Added Advantages

• Specialized training in truck or heavy-duty vehicle electronics.

Experience Requirements

• Three to five years of proven experience working as an auto electrician.
• Hands-on experience with heavy-duty trucks and passenger vehicles.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical faults.
