Agent Banking Support Advisor
Full-Time | Location: Kampala, Uganda
Deadline: 2nd July 2025
ABSA Bank Uganda is seeking a proactive and customer-oriented Agent Banking Support Advisor to promote and deliver financial solutions that meet client-specific needs. The role involves supporting agent banking operations, enhancing service delivery, ensuring compliance, and driving the growth of the bank’s agent network in line with strategic business objectives and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Service (30%)
-
Recruit competent and committed agents through a robust selection and due diligence process, ensuring all applications meet Bank of Uganda (BoU) guidelines.

Oversee the setup of agent touchpoints, ensuring availability of required gadgets, tools, and full regulatory compliance.

Monitor system uptime and ensure smooth operational setup.

Address and resolve issues raised by customers, agents, and partner banks.

Coordinate effective service delivery between the agent and their linked mother branch.

Drive total banking services to agents by identifying cross-selling opportunities.

Contribute to expanding the bank’s market share through agent networks.
2. Compliance, Governance, and Controls (30%)

Regularly update risk assessment reports related to agent operations.

Provide continuous support and service to agent partners.

Appraise agents using Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols, assessing financial capability, business viability, character, and community standing.

Conduct training sessions for agents and bank staff on compliance and operational standards.

Ensure full adherence to BoU prudential guidelines and contractual obligations between agents and the bank.
3. Business Management (25%)

Identify and prioritize potential clients/entities for agent banking services.

Conduct research and market analysis to inform development of new financial products and customer solutions.
4. Self-Development (15%)

Build and maintain strong working relationships across the branch network to maximize agent productivity and impact.

Share industry knowledge and best practices with colleagues across all functions.

Provide backup support to team members when needed.

Actively pursue professional development through training, coaching, and personal learning.

Commit to exceeding performance targets and contributing to team success.
Education & Qualifications:

Minimum: Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies (Required)

Additional certifications or training in customer service, financial services, or compliance are an added advantage.
