Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Agency Development Executive to lead and develop insurance sales agents in our Mbale branch. Reporting to the Head of Agency Development, this role involves coaching, mentoring, and delivering on strategic business metrics including manpower development, new business, premium income, product mix, and persistency.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Coach and mentor agents to meet individual and team targets in new business acquisition and premium income.
  • Train agents to achieve key business performance indicators including product mix, active agent ratio, and persistency.
  • Support agent growth by guiding team leaders and promoting them to Agency Supervisors.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions, especially for underperforming leaders based on their monthly performance scorecards.
  • Schedule and lead regular performance review meetings (weekly and monthly).

Business Growth & Development

  • Drive quality sales culture and consistent improvements in policy persistency.
  • Help agents reach and surpass the millionaire earning threshold through strategic sales planning and support.
  • Open up new markets and support team leaders in prospecting and recruiting agents.
  • Maintain high discipline and performance standards among team leaders and agents.
  • Promote worksite/Pay-point development to drive sales penetration in key areas.

Reporting

  • Provide accurate weekly reports covering all key performance indicators and team activities at the branch.
  • Collaborate with management and peers to align team output with company strategy and goals.

Additional Duties

  • Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by management in line with team development and sales objectives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Marketing, or Management.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in sales, insurance, or team leadership, preferably in a results-driven environment.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and people development skills.
  • Ability to work independently and inspire a team to achieve stretch targets.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset and proactive approach to leadership and business development.

Work Conditions

  • Standard 8-hour workdays, Monday to Friday.
  • Field visits and team meetings required to support agent activities and market expansion.
  • Primary duty station: Mbale Branch, Uganda.
