Latitude Craft Chocolate (Latitude Trade Company - LTC) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to support our sourcing and chocolate operations in Uganda. This full-time, in-country role reports directly to the Managing Director and plays a vital part in financial oversight, compliance, and team coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead management accounting for both sourcing and chocolate operations.

• Supervise and support a team of 4–5 Accounts Assistants:

  • Provide training, create weekly work plans, manage performance, review outputs, and ensure accuracy.

• Coordinate biweekly and monthly cash requirements planning for all branches.

• Submit accurate and timely management accounts and tax filings by the 10th of each month.

• Enter and categorize all transactions in Odoo.

• Perform bank and inventory reconciliations (raw materials, packaging, finished goods, WIP).

• Ensure real-time Odoo updates by operational team members for effective weekly reconciliation.

• Verify all invoicing for cocoa and chocolate sales.

• Support Accounts Assistants in retail sales reconciliation and weekly/monthly inventory reporting.

• Prepare and maintain accounts documentation for audits.

• Report on Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) weekly for cocoa sourcing and chocolate production.

• Assist with organization of Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable.

• Contribute to the annual audit process and conduct routine internal inventory audits.

• Track and report on loans, investor funds, donor contributions, and related financial agreements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a reputable institution.

• CPA or ACCA certification is required.

• Minimum 4 years of experience, preferably in Africa or a similar context.

• Strong background in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping.

• Previous exposure to agriculture, agronomy, or agro-processing is an advantage.

• Proficiency in Odoo or other ERP systems is desirable.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and take initiative.

• Willingness to travel to rural areas and work in the field as needed.

• Patience, adaptability, and a sense of humor are essential.
