Latitude Craft Chocolate (Latitude Trade Company - LTC) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to support our sourcing and chocolate operations in Uganda. This full-time, in-country role reports directly to the Managing Director and plays a vital part in financial oversight, compliance, and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities

Lead management accounting for both sourcing and chocolate operations.

Supervise and support a team of 4–5 Accounts Assistants:

Provide training, create weekly work plans, manage performance, review outputs, and ensure accuracy.

Coordinate biweekly and monthly cash requirements planning for all branches.
-
Submit accurate and timely management accounts and tax filings by the 10th of each month.

Enter and categorize all transactions in Odoo.

Perform bank and inventory reconciliations (raw materials, packaging, finished goods, WIP).

Ensure real-time Odoo updates by operational team members for effective weekly reconciliation.

Verify all invoicing for cocoa and chocolate sales.

Support Accounts Assistants in retail sales reconciliation and weekly/monthly inventory reporting.

Prepare and maintain accounts documentation for audits.
-
Report on Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) weekly for cocoa sourcing and chocolate production.

Assist with organization of Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable.

Contribute to the annual audit process and conduct routine internal inventory audits.

Track and report on loans, investor funds, donor contributions, and related financial agreements.

Qualifications & Skills
-
Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a reputable institution.

CPA or ACCA certification is required.
-
Minimum 4 years of experience, preferably in Africa or a similar context.
-
Strong background in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping.
-
Previous exposure to agriculture, agronomy, or agro-processing is an advantage.
-
Proficiency in Odoo or other ERP systems is desirable.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
-
Willingness to travel to rural areas and work in the field as needed.

Patience, adaptability, and a sense of humor are essential.
