Key Responsibilities & Learning Outcomes

As a Graduate Trainee, you will receive supervised training across various accounting and audit tasks with the goal of preparing you for a long-term career in the profession. Your main areas of responsibility will include:

Audit Engagement Support:

• Assist in the execution of audit assignments, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and timely.

• Conduct audit tests and procedures, including analytical reviews, vouching, and confirmations.

• Reconcile financial data with source documentation to verify accuracy.

• Properly document audit evidence and summarize findings for review by senior auditors.

Tax Compliance:

• Prepare and file individual and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.

• Research current tax laws and changes in legislation to inform advisory services.

• Support tax planning and reporting for clients in various industries.

Insolvency & Business Recovery:

• Provide support during insolvency procedures such as liquidations, administrations, and company voluntary arrangements.

• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all procedures comply with regulatory requirements.

General Professional Conduct:

• Maintain the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

• Follow all internal quality control policies and firm procedures.

• Collaborate with team members and contribute to client service excellence.

✅ Qualifications, Skills & Candidate Profile

To be considered for this exciting accountancy training opportunity in Uganda, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Hold or be a final-year student or graduate (Class of 2025) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Commerce, or a related field from a recognized institution.

• Must be registered with CPA (U) or actively pursuing certification.

• Demonstrated passion for audit, accounting, and taxation.

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be 24 years or younger at the time of application.

• High levels of professionalism, discipline, and ethical integrity.
