Job Summary:
Unifi is seeking a dynamic and experienced Branch Manager to lead and oversee its operations in Arua, Uganda. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the effective running of the branch-based lending operations. This includes ensuring compliance with financial regulations, training and monitoring customer-facing branch staff, and meeting key business performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Branch Manager at Unifi, your role will be multifaceted, combining operational leadership, team management, and customer relationship development. You will be expected to:
Operations & Compliance:

Ensure high levels of customer service are consistently achieved at the branch.

Drive sales performance and ensure that branch-level sales targets are met or exceeded.

Maintain full compliance with company credit policies, lending procedures, and financial regulations.

Promote and sustain a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, dedication, and accountability.

Monitor and handle customer complaints escalated from the loan consultants and ensure timely resolution.

Prepare and submit timely monthly reports to the head office, clearly communicating the branch's business performance and challenges.

Identify areas of operational improvement and recommend or implement changes to drive efficiency and performance.
Strategic Branch Leadership:

Develop and maintain a high-performing team by mentoring, coaching, and training staff on sales techniques, customer service, and compliance standards.

Leverage local market knowledge to identify business growth opportunities.

Ensure that branch KPIs and strategic goals are consistently achieved.

Share insights, effective practices, and market intelligence with other branches and head office for continuous improvement.
Marketing and Brand Engagement:

Take ownership of the Unifi brand presence within the local community through proactive marketing, networking, and customer engagement initiatives.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, community stakeholders, and business partners.

Represent the branch in local business forums, events, and networking opportunities to raise the profile of Unifi.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must have a solid understanding of the microfinance or financial services sector, exceptional leadership qualities, and strong customer service skills.
Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A diploma in a similar field with extensive experience may be considered.

Additional training or certification in credit management, customer service, or leadership is an added advantage.
Experience:
-
At least 3 years of experience in a branch supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a microfinance, banking, or retail lending environment.

Proven track record of meeting sales and performance targets.

Hands-on experience in team management, branch operations, and customer relationship management.
