Programme Overview
The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD) invites applications from qualified graduates for 100 Graduate Volunteer placements under the National Apprenticeship and Graduate Volunteer (NAGV) Programme.
The programme supports Uganda’s efforts to address youth unemployment and underemployment by helping fresh graduates transition into employment. Participants gain work-readiness skills through structured work placement, coaching, and mentorship in real work environments.

Graduate Volunteerism is the engagement of graduates in unpaid, skills-building work designed to help them:

Increase chances of securing formal employment after placement
Placement Arrangement
Successful applicants will be attached to host institutions that align with their academic qualifications. During placement, graduate volunteers will support day-to-day operations and contribute to strategic initiatives while learning on the job.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Hold at least a Certificate, Diploma, Honours Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree (or equivalent) from a recognised institution

Have graduated within the last five years (2021 to 2025)

Be aged 18 to 35 years at the time of application

Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders

Show high levels of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct, and willingness to learn in a professional environment

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
-
Familiarity with digital collaboration platforms such as Google Workspace, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams is an added advantage
