Job Summary

Nama Wellness Community Centre (NAWEC) is seeking a skilled IT/Communications Officer to support its monitoring, evaluation, and community engagement functions. The role combines IT support, digital communications, and content creation to enhance organizational visibility, efficiency, and impact.

The ideal candidate will maintain IT systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure secure data management while also managing digital communications platforms to strengthen NAWEC’s outreach and advocacy efforts.


Key Responsibilities

IT Systems & Support

  • Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain IT hardware, software, and network systems at the Centre.

  • Provide technical support to staff on computer, network, and system-related issues.

  • Ensure data security, backups, and confidentiality of organizational information.

  • Maintain and update electronic health records and other digital platforms.

Communications & Digital Media

  • Manage social media accounts, website content, and online presence to increase organizational visibility.

  • Produce engaging content for newsletters, blogs, and community updates.

  • Design IEC materials including posters, flyers, and infographics.

  • Document organizational activities through photography, videography, and storytelling.

  • Build and maintain relationships with media houses, community influencers, and stakeholders.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems & Technology, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field from a recognized institution.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT support, digital communications, or related roles. NGO or health sector experience is an added advantage.

  • Proficiency in social media management, graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop), and website content management.

  • Knowledge of networking, troubleshooting, and basic ICT infrastructure maintenance.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Photography and video editing skills are highly desirable.


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving and technical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Creative and proactive approach to digital communications and IT management.

  • Familiarity with community health programs or NGO operations is an advantage.
