Job Summary
Reliefline, a reputable organization operating in Uganda, is seeking to recruit a professional and experienced Driver to join its team in Kampala. The Driver will be responsible for providing safe, reliable, and timely transportation services to staff and goods, while ensuring compliance with traffic laws, organizational policies, and safety standards.
This role requires an individual who is responsible, dependable, and disciplined, with a strong background in defensive driving, vehicle care, and route planning. If you are between the ages of 35 and 45 years, have at least 2 years of driving experience, and are committed to professionalism, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Driver at Reliefline, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:

Safely operate company vehicles to transport staff, guests, and goods within Kampala and upcountry when required.

Ensure that vehicles are driven in compliance with Ugandan traffic regulations and organizational transport policies.

Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy.

Report any mechanical issues, damages, or necessary repairs to the transport supervisor immediately.

Maintain vehicle cleanliness, both interior and exterior, at all times.

Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and trips in the vehicle logbook.

Assist staff and visitors with loading and unloading goods and luggage when required.

Ensure that assigned vehicles always have updated insurance, road licenses, and other required documentation.

Practice defensive driving techniques to prevent accidents and enhance passenger safety.

Follow designated routes and schedules while remaining flexible in case of emergencies or rerouting.

Provide excellent customer service by being courteous, respectful, and professional at all times.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
The ideal candidate for this Driver position must meet the following requirements:

A valid Ugandan driver’s license with authorization to drive light vehicles.
-
At least 2 years of proven driving experience in a reputable organization, company, or NGO.

A clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations or accidents.

Strong knowledge of Kampala city routes and Ugandan road networks.

Good communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully with colleagues, clients, and visitors.

Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing schedules.

Age requirement: Candidates must be between 35 and 45 years old.

Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and minor troubleshooting.

High level of integrity, responsibility, and trustworthiness.

Ability to work under minimal supervision and handle confidential information appropriately.
