Acacia Foundation Limited is a leading manufacturer of plastic packaging products in Uganda, specializing in PET bottles, HDPE caps, and plastic shrink film. With a reputation for quality and innovation, we are expanding our Plastic Film Department and seeking a technically experienced and results-driven Plastic Film Production Manager.

Job Summary

The Plastic Film Production Manager will oversee the complete operations of our shrink film production line. This includes managing daily production activities, ensuring product quality, optimizing processes, and leading a skilled team. Candidates must have in-depth experience with blown film extrusion and related machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily operations in the plastic film department.
• Ensure that production goals, product quality, and machinery efficiency targets are met consistently.
• Monitor raw material usage and implement measures to reduce production waste.
• Enforce safety, hygiene, and operational protocols aligned with ISO and company standards.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate staff to build a motivated and competent production team.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and troubleshoot extrusion machines as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of output, downtime, raw material consumption, and machine performance.
• Work with the procurement and quality teams to ensure material availability and compliance with product specifications.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, Industrial Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in plastic film extrusion, particularly blown film for shrink applications.
• Strong technical understanding of extrusion machines and plastic resins (especially LDPE and PE).
• Familiarity with film quality metrics and industry best practices.
• Experience managing teams and production KPIs in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, and SOPs.
• Working knowledge of ISO procedures and health & safety regulations.
• Effective communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Working Conditions

• Job Type: Full-time
• Location: Matugga, Wakiso District (with proximity to Kampala)
• Working Hours: 8 hours per day
• Experience Required: 60 months (5 years)
• Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree
