The HR Officer will support the university’s human capital development and ensure smooth HR operations aligned with organizational goals.

Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor – Research, PR & Projects (1 position) – Full-time The Executive Assistant will provide strategic and administrative support to the Vice Chancellor, particularly in areas of research coordination, public relations, and project management. Responsibilities include handling communications, preparing reports, managing appointments, facilitating partnerships, and ensuring timely execution of university-led initiatives and academic projects.
  3. Adjunct Faculty / Part-time Consultants
    • School of Business & Applied Technology (SOBAT) – 2 positions CIU seeks experienced academics or professionals to teach and consult in the SOBAT programs. The ideal candidates will have specialization in fields such as Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Entrepreneurship. Responsibilities include delivering lectures, supervising student research, assessing performance, and providing mentorship in a flexible, part-time capacity.
    • Institute of Allied Health Sciences (IAHS) – 2 positions These roles involve part-time teaching and academic support in medical and health-related programs such as Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Public Health, or Clinical Medicine. Featured Role: Human Resources Officer

Reports to: Human Resources & Administration Manager

The Human Resources Officer will implement effective HR strategies and policies that foster a high-performance, employee-centered culture. This role supports recruitment, onboarding, employee well-being, compensation management, compliance, and HR analytics—ensuring adherence to national and international labor laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and analyze HR data to guide strategic decisions aligned with CIU’s goals.
  • Manage the entire recruitment process—advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Oversee staff onboarding/offboarding, conduct inductions, manage HRIS updates, and facilitate exit interviews.
  • Support talent acquisition and workforce planning aligned to the university’s growth strategy.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, statutory compliance (PAYE, NSSF, LST), and benefits administration.
  • Manage staff medical insurance: enrollment, card distribution, and premium reconciliation.
  • Coordinate employee wellness and engagement programs: team building, sports, sensitization campaigns, etc.
  • Offer guidance on HR issues to departments, aligning with policy and labor law standards.
  • Support positive employee relations and conflict resolution.
  • Contribute to HR operational planning and policy implementation.
  • Identify and execute staff learning and development initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related fields.

Job Summary

The Human Resources Officer will support the effective implementation of HR strategies, policies, and practices that foster a high-performance and employee-centered culture. Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze HR data to provide strategic insights in line with institutional plans.
  • Support end-to-end recruitment: job posting, shortlisting, candidate verification, and final appointments.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes in line with University policy and statutory requirements.
  • Assist in planning and executing talent acquisition strategies based on departmental staffing needs.
  • Process staff remuneration, statutory deductions (PAYE, NSSF, LST), and allowances accurately and on time.
  • Oversee staff medical insurance: application processing, card issuance, and reconciliation of insurance records.

Required Qualifications and Experience
