Job Description

Local Works Uganda is hiring a Site Storekeeper to provide effective operational support to Local Works Ltd corporate function. To manage all of the operations in our site-based store-room with a strong ability to multi-task as well as play a key role in the proper care and maintenance of our stock, including ordering, receiving, and managing inventory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain receipts, records, and withdrawals of items from the stockroom for LW.
  • Receive, unload, and shelve supplies for LW staff.
  • Follow up on documents and deliveries and confirm local deliveries.
  • Support the LW team in organizing and preparing daily activities including coordinating store requests.
  • Perform other stock-related duties, including returning faulty or damaged items, packing, and labeling goods received.
  • Ensure proper handling of items and materials in storage from point of receipt to point of issue to prevent damage or deterioration.
  • Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report to administration/accounting for reimbursements and recordkeeping.
  • Ensure adequate recordkeeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control.
  • Coordinate the handling and maintenance of equipment and perform necessary minor repairs.
  • Perform any other duties and tasks as requested.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Good knowledge of bookkeeping and inventory management.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and willingness to learn new ideas.
  • Competence in data entry, analysis, and management.
  • Keen attention to detail and time management.
  • Skills in operating common office equipment.
  • Minimum of A’ level certificate or diploma in procurement or a related course from a recognized institution.
  • At least 2 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or recordkeeping.

Terms of Employment

  • Project-based contract, with a 6-month probation period.
  • Full-time (18 hours per week).
  • 21 days annual leave.
