Job Summary:

LWF World Service (LWF) is hiring a Case Worker – Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) to support communities through counseling, psychosocial interventions, and peacebuilding activities. The role involves working with grassroots structures to promote social cohesion and provide support for individuals and families in refugee settlements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with local authorities, NGOs, and community leaders to implement project activities effectively.
  • Collect and analyze field data related to MHPSS activities.
  • Conduct assessments and daily follow-ups for persons with mental health needs.
  • Provide individual and group counseling, including self-help and interpersonal therapy sessions.
  • Promote peaceful coexistence and social cohesion through structured community interventions.
  • Manage case referrals and follow-ups with other service providers.
  • Organize outreach, training, and mentorship programs for community-based facilitators and ambassadors.
  • Ensure proper documentation, attendance tracking, and timely reporting of all activities.
  • Support M&E activities and submit regular performance and impact reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Counseling and Guidance, Community Psychology, Social Work and Social Administration, or Social Sciences with a major in Psychology.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health and psychosocial support, preferably in refugee or development settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Proficient in MS Office and internet tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle and hold a valid riding permit is desirable.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
