Job Overview
Diageo Uganda is seeking a results-driven and innovative E-Commerce Manager to lead and implement UBL’s digital commerce strategy. This role requires a proactive individual with deep understanding of consumer behavior, digital ecosystems, and omnichannel marketing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing digital customer journeys, increasing brand visibility, and driving online sales performance across Uganda’s growing eCommerce landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Planning:
- Own and operationalize the digital and eCommerce roadmap to drive category and market growth.
- Utilize market and consumer data to shape and refine channel strategies.
- Integrate eCommerce into broader trade and go-to-market plans.
- Channel Development & Execution:
- Design programs that increase traffic, average basket value, and conversion rates on digital platforms.
- Collaborate with brand, customer marketing, and sales teams to create omnichannel retail experiences.
- Align eCommerce campaigns with customer needs and portfolio plans.
- Performance & Capability Building:
- Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and optimize online sales activities.
- Improve digital product content, SEO, and catalog accuracy in partnership with agencies and platforms.
- Equip internal teams and partners with best-in-class digital practices.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong working relationships across departments—commercial, marketing, legal, finance, and supply chain.
- Collaborate with external agencies and marketplace partners to scale Diageo’s eCommerce footprint.
Key Deliverables
- Increased online visibility and digital share of shelf across e-retailers in Uganda.
- Higher conversion rates, basket sizes, and revenue through digital channels.
- Actionable consumer insights that inform innovation and campaign design.
- Successful rollout of omnichannel marketing toolkits and calendars.
- Strong cross-functional coordination and timely implementation of campaigns.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Marketing, Digital Media, etc.).
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in eCommerce, digital sales, or omnichannel roles within the FMCG or retail industry.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, platforms, and trends.
- Analytical mindset with experience using eCommerce dashboards and KPIs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience working with online retailers or marketplaces in Uganda is a plus.
- Creative problem-solver with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
