About the Role

Human Capital Business Solutions Ltd is seeking a skilled and reliable Electrical Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment. They must do this safely and on time. They will also ensure they follow all relevant codes and safety rules Reports To: Electrical Supervisor Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, outlets, lighting, and control systems.
• Install and repair wiring, fixtures, and equipment for all electrical services in the factory.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment and utilities.
• Maintain adequate stocks of electrical spares and consumables for uninterrupted plant operations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) electrical circuits of the plant.
• Maintain AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) records for utilities such as DG sets, compressors, weighbridges, and cranes.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards across the plant.
• Participate actively in energy conservation initiatives.
• Contribute to monthly stock-taking activities.
• Ensure all work is carried out according to local and national electrical codes.
• Maintain accurate records of tasks performed, materials used, and working hours.
• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks and troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent vocational training.
• Valid electrician’s license or certification is a must.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, tools, safety procedures, and technical blueprints.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces or at elevated heights.
• Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is an added advantage.
• Certifications in OSHA safety training and First Aid/CPR are preferred.
