Human Capital Business Solutions Ltd is hiring a Warehouse & Logistics Manager to support one of its clients in the manufacturing industry based in Namanve. This full-time role is ideal for professionals who excel in optimizing warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory control, and managing logistics workflows to meet both cost targets and customer satisfaction levels. The Warehouse & Logistics Manager will lead a dynamic team of warehouse personnel, work cross-functionally with procurement, production, and sales departments, and ensure end-to-end operational excellence in warehousing and distribution.Reporting To:
Supply Chain ManagerMain Duties and Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Inventory Control
- Oversee all daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, loading, and dispatch of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
- Implement inventory control measures such as cycle counts, regular audits, and reconciliation to ensure 100% stock accuracy.
- Optimize warehouse layout and racking systems to maximize space utilization and support production flow.
Logistics & Transportation Management
- Coordinate timely inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring alignment with production schedules and customer delivery timelines.
- Select carriers, plan routes, and negotiate freight costs to optimize delivery performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Audit freight invoices and manage claims, disputes, and carrier performance evaluations.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate warehouse and logistics staff including forklift operators and loaders.
- Develop staff rotas and shift schedules for continuous operations.
- Foster a positive work culture focused on productivity, safety, and continuous improvement.
Safety Compliance & Quality Control
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in line with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine safety audits, investigate incidents, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor storage conditions to maintain product quality and compliance, especially for sensitive or regulated items.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and analyze key KPIs including inventory accuracy, throughput, cost per unit, and on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery.
- Generate reports and share performance updates with production and executive leadership teams.
Process Improvement
- Lead lean initiatives to improve warehouse workflows, reduce costs, and eliminate waste.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect operational changes.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with procurement, production planning, quality control, and customer service teams to align goals and schedules.
- Ensure warehouse and logistics functions support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycles.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Manage warehouse and logistics budgets, including staff costs, transportation, and equipment.
- Negotiate service contracts with third-party logistics providers and carriers.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Transport and Logistics, Procurement & Logistics, or related field.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
- Professional certifications (CILT, CLM) are highly preferred.
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in a similar role within the manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse optimization, and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Odoo.
- Proven ability to lead teams, develop people, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
