Role Summary

The Multi-Property Director of Sales & Marketing will serve as the commercial leader of Marriott’s sales teams across multiple properties. The role focuses on achieving property booking goals, driving revenue through various sales channels, enhancing brand visibility, and delivering superior customer satisfaction. You will lead both reactive and proactive sales efforts, develop marketing strategies, and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sustained business growth.


Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Lead proactive/reactive sales activities to achieve property revenue targets.

  • Analyze market trends and customer data to refine sales approaches.

  • Guide the team in strategic account planning and client acquisition.

  • Utilize Marriott’s sales channels (e.g., Area Sales, Group Sales, electronic leads) to maximize property visibility and ROI.

  • Identify new opportunities through competitor analysis, customer feedback, and local market dynamics.

Marketing & Brand Positioning

  • Develop property-specific campaigns, promotions, and digital marketing strategies aligned with Marriott brand standards.

  • Collaborate with regional marketing teams for national and international promotional campaigns.

  • Manage the marketing budget and oversee execution of all communication initiatives including PR, advertising, and collateral.

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the lead contact for key accounts and high-value clients.

  • Foster long-term, value-based client relationships to increase bookings and loyalty.

  • Ensure seamless client experiences from proposal to post-event follow-up.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Direct and motivate the sales & marketing team to meet strategic goals.

  • Provide coaching, training, and mentoring for future Marriott leaders.

  • Drive performance management, recruitment, and succession planning with HR.

Operational Integration

  • Coordinate with Revenue Management, Event Planning, and Operations to ensure alignment.

  • Monitor the STAR reports and KPIs to measure progress and reposition strategies where necessary.

  • Oversee implementation of brand service standards across all sales and marketing touchpoints.


Qualifications & Experience

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related field.

  • Alternatively, a 2-year diploma with at least 4 years of sales/marketing experience in the hospitality industry.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Lodging/hospitality sales experience with a proven track record of performance.

  • Prior leadership of multi-property sales teams is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with Marriott's systems, sales processes, and customer relationship platforms.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and project management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, inspire excellence, and deliver results under pressure.
