Location: Bbira Children’s Village, Uganda

Watoto ChildCare Ministries is looking for a dedicated IT Support Officer to join our ICT team. The successful candidate will support the maintenance, management, and improvement of ICT systems, ensuring smooth operations across our campuses and ministry offices.

Watoto ChildCare Ministries is an outreach of Watoto Church, founded with the mission of rescuing vulnerable women and children, restoring their dignity, and raising leaders who will transform their communities. With multiple Celebration Centres (Campuses) and a range of outreach programs—such as education, childcare, healthcare, and community development—Watoto has become a cornerstone of hope across Uganda.

Our ICT systems are crucial in enabling these life-changing programs. We are seeking a skilled professional to strengthen our technical support and systems reliability.


Key Responsibilities

As the IT Support Officer, you will play a vital role in enhancing system functionality and providing front-line support to all users across the ministry. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement standardized ICT procedures and documentation.

  • Assist in designing and implementing innovative, cutting-edge ICT solutions based on current industry trends.

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with internal ICT policies and procedures.

  • Conduct regular maintenance of the ICT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and end-user devices.

  • Implement ICT operational plans, manage ICT inventory, and oversee asset tracking and control.

  • Ensure users have timely and seamless access to systems and applications.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues efficiently.

  • Provide first-line technical support and document all incidents through proper ticketing systems.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review systems and applications, identify improvement opportunities, and suggest upgrades.

  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of third-party IT service providers to ensure adherence to service-level agreements.

  • Manage and coordinate ICT training programs to enhance user skills, application knowledge, and digital literacy.

  • Prepare periodic technical reports and updates for the Systems Administrator and ICT leadership.


Qualifications, Skills & Experience

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you should have the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a reputable organization.

  • Industry certifications such as Cisco (CCNA), Microsoft (MCP, MCSA, or similar), or Oracle are mandatory.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a significant added advantage.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work under minimal supervision.

  • A strong sense of integrity, discipline, and alignment with the Christian values and mission of Watoto Ministries.
