The successful candidates will play a key role in driving revenue growth by identifying business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and expanding CIC’s footprint within the cooperative market segment.

Role: Business Development Manager – Cooperatives
Purpose of the Role
To generate revenue and achieve corporate annual sales targets through the development of assigned markets and distribution channels. The role also involves building and maintaining profitable relationships with cooperative societies and other strategic partners.
Key Responsibilities
-
Prepare and manage departmental sales and expenditure budgets.
-
Generate revenue through effective daily sales oversight and market planning.
-
Build and maintain strategic partnerships within cooperatives and assigned markets.
-
Lead the preparation and timely delivery of quotations and tender documents.
-
Conduct consumer education initiatives within targeted cooperative segments.
-
Drive new business acquisition and renewals to meet revenue targets.
-
Collaborate with product development teams to create customized insurance solutions.
-
Deliver a first-class customer experience to all assigned clients.
-
Recruit, train, and mentor intermediaries and sales agents within your assigned market.
-
Ensure compliance with the organization’s credit control policies.
-
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely service delivery and issue resolution.
-
Participate in market activations, community storms, and sales drives.
-
Build strong alliances with intermediaries, stakeholders, and cooperative unions.
-
Prepare and submit market intelligence reports and competitor analysis.
-
Support cross-functional collaboration and business alignment with internal teams.
-
Perform other duties as assigned by the management from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
-
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Insurance, or a related field.
Professional Certification (Added Advantage):
-
A Diploma in Insurance or any professional sales/marketing qualification.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Prior experience working with cooperatives or cooperative unions is a strong advantage.
