People Business Partner – Contract
Nile Breweries Limited, the leading beer manufacturer in Uganda, is hiring a People Business Partner to provide strategic and operational HR support to key departments within the Brewery. This role is responsible for enabling business performance through best-in-class HR practices, including talent management, performance development, employee engagement, and organizational capability building.
As the HR driver and coach within the assigned functions, the People Business Partner will partner with Line Managers to implement people strategies that support the company’s goals, while drawing on support from specialist teams.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
✅ HR Strategy Execution & Coaching

Establish and monitor HR processes across the year and provide hands-on coaching to Line Managers.

Ensure the consistent and effective execution of core HR processes within all assigned departments.
✅ Organisational & Talent Development
-
Translate business needs into actionable people strategies, shaping annual capability and talent agendas.

Support line managers in employee development, career pathing, and succession planning.
✅ Performance & Capability Management
-
Identify business performance gaps and collaborate with HR specialists to develop tailored HR solutions.

Drive the People Pillar VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization) Agenda within functional departments.
✅ Reporting & HR Data Integrity
-
Monitor team and departmental performance through key HR metrics.

Maintain HR system data integrity in SAP HR and contribute to workforce analytics and scorecards.
✅ Learning & Development
-
Evaluate competency gaps and align learning interventions accordingly.

Promote adoption of HR tools and training resources within departments.
✅ Employee Relations & Compliance
-
Address local delivery requirements including employee relations, industrial relations, and regulatory compliance.

Ensure alignment with company and legal standards regarding HR practices.
✅ HR Operations Governance
-
Contribute to continuous improvement by evaluating the quality and cost of HR service delivery.

Provide feedback to specialist teams on HR solution effectiveness and improvement areas.
Minimum Requirements
-
University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
-
Minimum of 2–5 years HR experience in a complex, fast-paced organization.
-
Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR initiatives with commercial priorities.

Proficiency with HR systems (SAP preferred) and analytical tools.
