Lifting Supervisor Job – Buliisa, Uganda

About the Role

OML Africa Logistics is seeking a qualified Lifting Supervisor to oversee safe and compliant lifting operations at its Lake Albert oilfield project site in Buliisa, Western Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all onsite lifting operations in line with approved lifting plans and OML’s Lifting Management System (LMS).
• Conduct toolbox talks and pre-lift risk assessments with crane operators, riggers, and HSE teams.
• Verify site ground conditions, crane setup, rigging gear, and load charts before execution.
• Maintain lifting gear registers and certification logs; inspect slings, shackles, and related equipment.
• Lead and document all lifting-related incidents or near misses; ensure corrective actions are followed up.
• Collaborate with contractors and procurement teams to manage lifting equipment and support periodic audits.
• Submit daily lifting reports and compile weekly/monthly performance summaries.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Certification: Certified Lifting Supervisor (LEEA preferred; APLO or OPITO also acceptable).
• Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on field experience in oil & gas or heavy construction lifting operations.
• Technical Skills: Proficient with mobile, crawler, and overhead cranes; expert in rigging, lifting gear, and load charts.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment and health, safety, and environment (HSE) protocols.
