Position: Marketing Lead

Employment Type: Contract

Airtel Uganda is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Marketing Lead to oversee and implement marketing strategies that drive growth in our Home Broadband (HBB) segment. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in device and tariff plan pricing, market analysis, customer lifecycle management, and project execution across Airtel’s diverse African markets.


Key Responsibilities

Product & Pricing Implementation

  • Apply pricing principles to all broadband devices and tariff plans to ensure profitability.

  • Prevent negative margin impacts through strategic pricing and commission structures.

  • Ensure timely customization and branding for Airtel HBB devices:

    • Case + box branding

    • Web UI design

    • Firmware specs

    • Quick user guides

Tariff Design & Launch

  • Develop ARPU-growth-oriented and base-expanding tariff plans.

  • Ensure new tariffs and device pricing are implemented and communicated within 2 weeks of approval.

  • Lead Go-To-Market (GTM) execution, including:

    • Product catalogue updates

    • Consistency across recharge channels (USSD, App, Web)

    • Clear communication briefs of product USPs

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Conduct post-launch analysis weekly (first month) and bi-monthly thereafter.

  • Maintain trackers for:

    • Plan-wise subscriptions

    • Device activations

    • Freebie utilization

    • Revenue reporting and reconciliations

    • Exceptions and channel outages

Customer Lifecycle Management

  • Monitor subscription behavior and customer engagement.

  • Track activations by plan/channel and highlight any anomalies.

Project & Service Management

  • Maintain project management trackers for all HBB initiatives.

  • Lead the implementation of new services within the Home Broadband portfolio.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, or Accounting.

  • MBA or professional marketing/finance certifications are an added advantage.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a marketing role within FMCG or Telecom industries.

  • Background in finance or IT is a plus.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis.

  • Problem-solving mindset with entrepreneurial acumen.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in diverse, cross-cultural teams.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills.

  • Familiarity with corporate governance and product business case development.

  • Willingness to travel across Airtel Africa’s 14 markets.
