About the Role

Uganda Airlines is seeking a dynamic and experienced Duty Manager to lead safe, efficient, and customer-centric airport operations at the Entebbe Hub. The successful candidate will ensure seamless ground handling, uphold regulatory compliance, and promote an On-Time Performance (OTP) culture while enhancing Uganda Airlines’ image and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee cost-effective delivery of ground handling services (check-in, airport experience, baggage, ramp handling).

• Foster an OTP culture, working with all stakeholders to achieve punctuality and operational excellence.

• Plan and structure station operations to align with current and future business needs.

• Implement safety and security measures in line with aviation regulations.

• Identify and report hazards, incidents, and near-misses; maintain a risk register.

• Compile and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on ground operations.

• Supervise, train, and develop staff to meet strategic and operational goals.

• File flight plans to ensure legal and safety compliance.

• Ensure all operations adhere to IATA/ICAO, regulatory, and company standards.

• Address non-compliance issues, implement corrective actions, and resolve root causes.

• Represent Uganda Airlines at Airport Operators Committee (AOC) meetings.

• Maintain high-level client and stakeholder relationships to support the airline's competitiveness.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.

• IATA Diploma or relevant aviation training is an added advantage.

• Minimum of 3 years in a managerial role at a reputable airline or ground handling company.

• Experience managing operations at an airline hub is required.

Additional Training/Certifications:

• Load Control Training

• IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) – Category 6 (advantageous)

• ICAO Safety Management Systems (SMS)

• Aviation Safety and Security (AVSEC)

• Airside Safety and Ramp Supervision Training
