Uganda Airlines is the national carrier of Uganda, dedicated to delivering top-tier service and ensuring passenger safety and satisfaction. We are hiring a Travel Document Verifier to support ground operations and ensure compliance with international travel regulations.Position Overview
The Travel Document Verifier will be responsible for verifying travel documentation to reduce risk exposure, ensure compliance with immigration regulations, and maintain high standards of passenger service and security. Reports To: Supervisor – Travel Documents Department: Ground OperationsKey Responsibilities
- Verify and profile travel documents to identify improper or inadequate documentation.
- Detect fraudulent documentation and notify supervisors immediately of suspicious documents.
- Verify the authenticity of visas and related travel documents.
- Apply regulations and DVU (Document Verification Unit) procedures to manage inadmissible passengers.
- Support authorities and internal security in cases of document fraud investigations.
- Manage DVU-related cases while minimizing disruption to customer experience.
- Maintain high service standards even during enforcement of compliance procedures.
- Coordinate with airport authorities and departments for timely enforcement of immigration laws.
- Prepare internal and legal reports regarding findings and incidents.
- Escort special and VIP passengers at the airport when required.
- Remain informed of country-specific entry restrictions (e.g., yellow fever, COVID-19 policies).
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma in a relevant field.
- At least 2 years of experience in travel document verification, preferably with an airline or ground handling agent.
- Completion of airport operations training.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
