About URSB
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is a statutory body established under the URSB Act Cap. 210. The Bureau is a vital institution in the registration of commercial, civil, and intellectual property rights. URSB plays a key role in supporting private sector growth and providing critical data for national planning and development.
Job Summary
URSB is seeking a dynamic and creative Communications Officer to support the implementation of communication strategies and public relations activities. The ideal candidate will help promote the Bureau’s image, enhance stakeholder engagement, and ensure consistent, clear communication across various platforms.
Reports To: Senior Communications Officer
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Organize press conferences, media briefings, and public appearances.

Coordinate promotional activities such as open days, exhibitions, tours, and stakeholder engagements.

Prepare and distribute press releases, media statements, and official publications.

Conduct research to assess public opinion and identify communication gaps or opportunities.

Implement crisis communication strategies as needed.

Respond to media inquiries promptly and professionally.

Monitor media coverage and analyze public sentiment regarding URSB.

Work closely with internal teams to maintain consistent messaging and improve internal communications.

Manage and update URSB’s social media platforms, engage with online audiences, and monitor digital feedback and conversations.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Communication Studies, or Public Relations from a recognized institution.
Experience:
-
No prior work experience is required; however, demonstrated interest or internship experience in communications or public relations will be an added advantage.
