About URSB
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is a statutory body established under the URSB Act Cap. 210. URSB plays a vital role in the registration of commercial, civil, and intellectual property rights. It supports private sector development and provides essential data for national planning and development initiatives.
Job Summary
URSB is seeking to recruit 19 Registration Officers to provide effective and efficient registration services across its various departments. The successful candidates will ensure the accurate registration of works and rights, manage registry databases, and support the implementation of relevant laws and policies.
Reports To: Senior Registration Officer
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Register copyright works, rights, assignments, licenses, contracts, and related documentation.

Maintain and update registry databases to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility.

Implement relevant laws, policies, and guidelines to improve the registration process.

Support the enforcement and administration of registration-related laws, standards, and procedures.
-
Respond to public inquiries on registration matters in accordance with statutory requirements.

Assess and manage non-tax revenue collected from registration services.

Conduct hearings and make determinations on disputes concerning registration matters.

Issue enforcement orders under the authority of the Registrar.

Offer technical guidance to the public on registration processes and requirements.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Applicants must have either of the following qualifications:
Option 1:
-
An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university.
-
A Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre or any accredited institution.
Option 2:
-
An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration, or Business Administration (Management Option) from a recognized institution.
Experience:

No prior work experience is required. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
