About the Role
Centenary Publishing House is seeking a dynamic and visionary General Manager to lead our publishing operations. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving strategic growth, managing daily operations, and ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
As the General Manager, you will:

Lead the development and execution of the company’s strategic vision and growth plans.

Oversee all operational functions, including editorial, production, marketing, sales, and distribution.

Provide effective leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
-
Prepare and manage the organization’s annual budget to ensure financial health and profitability.
-
Build and nurture strong relationships with authors, editors, printers, distributors, and other key stakeholders.
-
Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and publishing industry standards.

Represent Centenary Publishing House at industry events, media engagements, and professional forums.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
-
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Publishing, Communications, or a related discipline.

5–10 years of senior-level management experience, preferably in publishing, media, or related sectors.

Demonstrated success in strategic planning, operations management, and financial oversight.
-
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
-
Proficiency in publishing tools and financial management software.
-
Fluency in English and at least one local language (e.g., Luganda).
Preferred:
-
Master’s degree or MBA is a strong advantage.
