About the Role

Centenary Publishing House is seeking a dynamic and visionary General Manager to lead our publishing operations. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving strategic growth, managing daily operations, and ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of the organization.


Key Responsibilities

As the General Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development and execution of the company’s strategic vision and growth plans.

  • Oversee all operational functions, including editorial, production, marketing, sales, and distribution.

  • Provide effective leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering a high-performance culture.

  • Prepare and manage the organization’s annual budget to ensure financial health and profitability.

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with authors, editors, printers, distributors, and other key stakeholders.

  • Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and publishing industry standards.

  • Represent Centenary Publishing House at industry events, media engagements, and professional forums.


Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Publishing, Communications, or a related discipline.

  • 5–10 years of senior-level management experience, preferably in publishing, media, or related sectors.

  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, operations management, and financial oversight.

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in publishing tools and financial management software.

  • Fluency in English and at least one local language (e.g., Luganda).

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree or MBA is a strong advantage.
