We are seeking a responsible, experienced, and safety-conscious Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver to join our dynamic team in Uganda.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain company HGVs safely and efficiently as assigned.
- Complete journey plans accurately and on time.
- Take full responsibility for the vehicle and its cargo.
- Report for duty on time and work efficiently.
- Deliver goods in full, on time, and in good condition.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism.
- Follow all health, safety, and traffic regulations.
- Report incidents or accidents immediately.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good condition.
- Inspect the vehicle and load before departure.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Record defects and ensure issues are addressed.
- Ensure cargo details match invoices and are properly secured.
- Drive responsibly and within speed limits.
- Maintain clear and timely communication.
- Be present and verify goods during offloading.
- Ensure PODs are signed, returned, and breakages documented.
- Secure the load and vehicle throughout the journey.
- Confirm delivery destination before departure.
- Build and maintain good customer relationships.
Qualifications & Experience
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent.
- Valid HGV driving permit (Class CM, CH or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HGV driving.
- Defensive driving or Smith System training is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Uganda’s regional roads.
- Preferred age: 35 – 40 years.

- Proactive in identifying vehicle or route issues.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability to high-pressure environments.
- Basic knowledge of logistics documentation and operations.
Language Requirements
Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
